South Coast Champions Again!

Newport Junior Senior crew of Ollie Coulson, Matt Swiss, Jake Garner, Alex Barnes and coxed by Mariana Hare took honours at the South Coast Championship representing Hants & Dorset ARA. The Championships this year were at Deal in Kent over a straight 1800m course. Having been drawn in the unfavoured outside lane, with a gusting tail wind, they made a solid start to the race, keeping clear of trouble, and had a slight lead going under the pier at approximate a third of the distance. Having navigated that obstacle, they pushed on to increase the lead to win by a comfortable margin
