Hants & Dorset Junior Senior Champions

Newport took the 2026 Junior Senior Championship right to the wire, as they did with the Junior championship in 2025. Again, their main rivals were Southampton, who took a 4-1 lead, after Newport had taken the honours at their home regatta at the start of the season. As they worked out their best combination of crew they took wins at Swanage, Poole, Woolston, Coalporters, and finally BTC to clinch the championship 6-4. (No race at Milford, which was abandoned becasue of bad weather). Newport has a squad of athletes over the season, all deserve recognition: Ollie Coulson, Toby Batchelor, Boris Hare, Matt Swiss, Jake Garner, Alex Barnes, and Jude Williams. Mariana Hare coxed all but one race, where Fin Gorbutt covered (successfully) for her.
